A humanoid robot boyfriend, huh?
I remember watching My Absolute Boyfriend (2008) way back when I was probably 13 or 14 years old, feels like ages ago! Although I had seen some J-dramas before, I don’t remember them as vividly as this one, hence the ‘”First“.
For those unaware of the series , it follows Riko Izawa, who ends up with this charming humanoid robot named Night Tenjo, programmed to love her. The story really showcases Riko’s journey to find companionship. She finds herself caught in a love triangle with her colleague, Soshi Asamoto, and ultimately faces the tough decision of letting Night go.
